Three bandhs in Manipur tomorrow

Imphal, Jan 31 (UNI) Altogether three organisations today called for 24-hour bandhs for different reasons in Manipur tomorrow.

The Sadar Hills District Demand Committee has called for a bandh from midnight today till tomorrow midnight demanding district status for Sadar Hills.

The committee also stated that the government should take a decision on the issue during the budget session of the Assembly, which begins tomorrow.

The transport operators said that the inter-state bus services will remain cancelled tomorrow in view of the bandh.

The Joint Action Committee for 5th and 6th IRB Battalion Waiting List Candidates has also called for another 24-hour statewide general strike from 0500 hrs tomorrow demanding immediate announcement of results.

Meanwhile, the JAC formed in connection with the mysterious death of Toijam Ningol Oinam Ongbi Shanti Devi of Charangpat Mamang Leikai, Thoubal on January eight has called a 24-hour bandh along Indo-Burma Road in Thoubal from 0500 hours tomorrow.
