Mig 21 crashes near Alipurduar at Jalpaiguri

Jalpaiguri, Jan 31 (UNI) A Mig 21 plane, which had taken off from the Hashimara Air Force base this morning, crashed at the Bhatpara tea estate under Alipurduar police station in this district.

Superintendent of Police Tripurari said a child was seriously injured in the accident which occurred at around 1030 hrs.

However, the pilot escaped with minor injuries.

The injured child was rushed to a local hospital.

Senior Air Force and police officials and Fire Brigade personnel also rushed to the spot.

Investigation was on, the SP added.
