Grievances cells on anvil to redress nursery admn complaints
New Delhi, Jan 31 (UNI) Delhi Education Minister Arvinder Singh today ordered setting up of Grievance cells headed by the Deputy Director Education in each of the nine districts of the Education Department of Delhi for redressal of complaints relating to admissions of children in pre-school or pre-primary classes in the public schools.
Adressing a weekly review meeting, the Education Minister directed all the Deputy Directors of the Directorate of Education to remain available in their offices from 0900 hrs to 1000 Hrs every day (except Sundays) to hear, investigate and redress the complaints relating to admissions.
Mr Singh said the respective Deputy Directors will also visit the public schools in their areas to ascertain whether the admission criteria declared by a Public School was in conformity with the instructions issued by the Directorate of Education, especially the directions that no weightage of marks shall be given to a candidate on the basis of his/her parent's profession or educational qualification.
They will also ensure that each school follows the admission criteria, which they declared while inviting the applications for admission in pre-school/ pre-primary classes. In case of violation or non-compliance, strict action is on the cards for the erring public school.
