EC to review poll preparedness in Nagaland today
Kohima, Jan 31 : Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) N Gopalaswami alongwith two Election Commissioners S Y Qureshi and Navin Chawla will today review poll preparedness for the March 5 Assembly polls in Nagaland.
During their three-day visit, members of the Commission will held meetings with representatives of recognised political parties separately.
Meanwhile, Nagaland Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C J Ponraj has constituted election committees in each district to oversee the poll arrangements and to receive complaints on violations of codes of conduct and suggestions from individuals and parties to ensure free and fair poll in the state.
The nomination papers will be filed from February 9 and the last date for it is February 16 followed by withdrawal by February 20.
Counting of votes will take place on March 8.
The term of the House that was brought under President's rule early this month, ends on March 13.
There are 60 seats out of which 59 are reserved for Scheduled Tribes.
