'Chalo Raj Bhavan' by Anganwadi teachers on Feb 7
Gulbarga, Jan 31 (UNI) The CPI(M)-affiliated State Anganwadi Teachers and Workers Association (SATWA) has given a 'Chalo Raj Bhavan' call for February seven to mount pressure on the administration to abolish Balavikas Committees.
Informing this to newspersons here today, SATWA State President Santha Ghanta said the SATWA had been demanding the Government to 'delink' the anganwadi organisation from the Balavikas Committee.
She alleged that the male-dominated Balavikas Committees, comprising panchayat members, were harassing the women anganwadi teachers and a woman anganwadi teacher had even committed suicide unable to bear the harassment of committee members.
''More than 20,000 anganwadi teachers would converge at the Raj Bhavan to mount pressure on the Government to abolish or delink the anganwadi from the clutches of Balavikas Committees,'' she said.
