XIMB student offered a salary of Rs 16.5 lakh per annum
Bhubanewar, Jan 30 (UNI) A student of the Post Graduate Diploma in Management of the Xavier Institute of Management XIMB here was offered a salary of Rs 16.5 lakh per annum by a bank in the annual recruitment programme.
XIMB Director P T Joseph said the offer, the highest made by any financial institution or bank so far, was made by J P Morgan Chase.
This year 35 per cent of the batch signed out with banks and financial institutions. Deutche Bank, Barclays Bank, PLC, HSBC, SEBI, Axis Bank, Irevan, ICICI Bank and SBI Caps were among the institutions who visited the campus this time, Mr Joseph said.
Out of more than 100 companies, only 62 were selected to participate in the recruitment programme. A total of 248 offers were made to a batch of 118 students that leads to an average of 2.1 offers per student.
At least 25 new companies like Mediacom, HSBC Bank, Irevna, SEBI, Verizon, Aptivaa Consulting, Vodafone, RPG, Glenmark Pharma participated in the recruitment for the first time this year.
While the highest salary offered in the IT sector was Rs 11 lakh per annum, the highest salary offered in Human Resources was Rs 13 lakh per annum. In FMCG and Media sector, the highest salary were Rs 10.5 and Rs 11.5 lakh per annum respectively.
In PGDM (Rural Management) as many as 18 companies made 75 offers to 61 students. The highest salary offered was Rs 8.50 lakh per annum while the average salary stood at Rs 6.01 lakh per annum which was 18 per cent increase over last year, the Director said.
