Cold wave sweeps in Delhi, mercury drops to 4.1 deg C
New Delhi, Jan 30: The coldwave sweeping Delhi for the last two days intensified today with the mercury dropping to 4.1 degrees Celsius.
After a marginal rise yesterday, the minimum temperature today dipped to 4.1 degrees, 4 degrees below normal. There was also slight mist in the morning, though visibility remained normal at 800 m. Coming days could witness a further intensification of the coldwave with the weatherman forecasting a drop in the minimum temperature to 3 degrees tomorrow. The weatherman attributed the prevailing coldwave conditions in the national capital to cold northwesterly winds, which on Monday led to a drop in the mercury to 2.3 degrees.
The met office has forecast a mainly clear sky in the next 24 hours in the capital.
