Kapurthala MC president resumes charge following HC stay order

Kapurthala, Jan 29 (UNI) Following stay order of Punjab and Haryana High Court, Sudesh Kumar Aggarwal, who was removed as the president of Kapurthala Municipal Council, today resumed the charge of the council.

On November 29 last year, in an embezzlement case of paddy Sudesh Kumar Aggarwal was removed from his post and was also disqualified as member of the council by the Local Bodies Secretary.

Mr Aggarwal challenged his removal in the Punjab and Haryana High Court which granted stay on his removal on January 25.

Talking to mediapersons, he said, "I am happy that the justice is given to me by the court as I was removed on frivolous charges under political pressure." UNI XC PS VN1822
