'Hoteltech and Baketech Show' in Kochi from Jan 30

Kochi, Jan 29 (UNI) A three-day 'Hoteltech Show and Baketech Show '08' will be inaugurated by Dr Sebastian Paul, MP, here on January 30, Kerala Hotel and Restaurant Association President K Kuriakose said today.

Addressing the press here, Mr Kuriakose said the event will showcase the latest hospitality and bakery equipment technology and services.

Nearly 50 hospitality and bakery equipment suppliers and service providers will show their expertise during the event.

Stating tourist-related infrastructure was growing at a brisk pace in Kerala, he said hotels and restaurants in the State were trying to adopt international standards and certifications.

Among the areas of focus during the event would be Food and Beverages Services, Housekeeping, Health and Leisure Equipment, Interior and Architecture, Kitchen Equipment, IT for Hospitality, Waste and Energy Management and Hotel and Restaurant Technology.

Stating that the hotel and restaurant sector provided employment to nearly 2.5 million people in the State directly and indirectly, Mr Kuriakose said there was a need for the government to address the concerns of the sector.
