Hooda pays tribute to Lala Lajpat Rai

Chandigarh, Jan 28 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today called upon the people, especially the youth to follow the high ideals of great patriot and freedom fighter, Lala Lajpat Rai.

In a message issued here today, on the occasion of birth anniversary of Lala Lajpat Rai, Mr Hooda described him as an outstanding leader and an ardent social reformer who sacrificed his life for the freedom of the country.

"Popularly known as Punjab Kesari (Lion of Punjab), Lala Lajpat Rai was a key mentor of nationalists and he inspired many youth to join the freedom movement," the Chief Minister said.

His quote "Every blow aimed at me is a nail in the coffin of British imperialism", became historic and would be long remembered, added Mr Hooda.
