ULFA rebels killed; army captain hurt in encounter
Guwahati, Jan 27 (UNI) Two ULFA militants were killed and an army captain seriously wounded in an encounter in Assam's Tinsukia district today.
Army sources informed that the encounter between the militants and 7/11 Gorkha Regiment took place at Borpathar, under Doomdooma police station at about 1300 hours.
One of the slain militants had been identified as ''Corporal'' Pipla Moran, who was out on bail after being arrested two months back.
Captain S K Choudhury was also seriously wounded in the encounter, the sources added. One AK 56 rifle and several rounds of ammunition were recovered from the militants.
