Siddiqui calls for joint effort to rejuvenate Bundelkhand

Banda, Jan 27 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Sugarcane Development Minister Naseemuddin Siddiqui called for a joint effort of all political parties to overcome the aftermath of natural disaster in Bundelkhand division.

''The region has already suffered a major loss due to drought, it is high time now to do something for the victims of the natural calamity...opposition should not ploy it for their political benefits,'' Mr Siddiqui said, while laying a foundation stone of a bridge at Chilla Ghat yesterday.

''Providing bread and butter to the drought-hit population is not a political matter, but is rather a human act,'' he further said.

Thus, we should together think for the development of the region, he added.

Lauding the BSP government, Mr Siddiqui said the Mayawati-led Uttar Pradesh government has successfully met all its promises and is adamant to the best for the development of the state.
