Puducherry, Jan 27: Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee president P Shanmugham would leave for New Delhi on January 30 to apprise the party high command of the prevailing political situation here in the wake of alleged revolt by five Ministers against Chief Minister N Rangasamy.

Talking to the press here today, Mr Shanmugham said the Congress was a national party and some differences of opinion could crop up.

However, action could not be initiated on charges made without adequate evidence.

On AICC General Secretary V Narayanasamy's effigy being burnt, Mr Shanmugham said the culprits could not be Congressmen.

A true Congressman cannot burn anybody's effigy, he claimed while maintaining it was wrong for Mr Narayansamy to issue a statement to the press against the Chief Minister.

Mr Shanmugham said he did not discriminate against anyone and all three ''samis'' (Rangasamy,Narayanasamy and Kandasamy) were equal to him.
