Adampur, Amritsar shiver at sub zero temps
Jalandhar, Jan 27: There was no respite from the onging intense cold wave in Punjab with the minimum temperature below the zero degree Celsius mark at Amritsar and Adampur, near Jalandhar for the third successive day.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) base at Adampur was cold at minus 2.3 degrees, turning it into the coldest place in Punjab. The Holy City of Amritsar was cold at minus 1.6 degrees, six degrees below normal.
The IAF base at Halwara recorded the minimum at 0.8 degree.
The night temperatures in the Malwa belt also fellwith Bathinda recording 3.6, while the border town of Pathankot was also cold at 0.8 degree.
The met office at Adampur has forecast a clear sky in the day with fog and haze in the night and tomorrow early morning.
