130 institutions receiving Janani Express facility in MP

Bhopal, Jan 27 (UNI) About 130 institutions in Madhya Pradesh are receiving Janani Express facility under which private institutions conduct ambulances in government hospitals.

So far, 12,306 beneficiaries have been benefited by the scheme, an official release said here today.

These ambulances are providing conveyance facility to pregnant women. Eligible women are paid expenses on conveyance under the Janani Suraksha Yojana.

Additional expenses are borne by the concerning hospital's Rogi Kalyan Samiti. Every driver of the Janani Express vehicle has a mobile phone.

The Janani Express reaches the house of the needy on receiving just one phone call.

The Janani Express Yojana was launched with the objective of bringing down mother and child mortality rate and encouraging institutional delivery. The benefit of this scheme can be availed by pregnant women getting admitted to government hospitals besides other patients and children, the release added.
