I am ready to resign if UPA allies wish that: Koda

Ranchi, Jan 26 (UNI) Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda today said he was ready to quit from his post if the coalition partners of the state's UPA government wished him to do so.

''I am shouldering the responsibility as per the decision of the UPA allies and if they want me to resign, I am ready,'' Mr Koda told mediapersons here.

''But the coalition partners should also be held responsible for the political imbroglio, if emerged, following my resignation as it could lead to mid-term polls in the state,'' he added.

Referring to the recent statements of Congress Working Committee member and party in-charge Ajay Maken, Mr Koda said the party had already been apprised of the developmental work being carried out by the state government.

''If there was any conflict over any issue in the UPA then the matter should be discussed with the partners,'' the Chief Minister said, adding that making any adverse remarks could affect the coalition partners also.

Dissatisfied with the functioning of the Koda government, the Congress said it would reconsider about extending support to the state government after the Simaria bypoll, slated for February 4.

However, Mr Koda expected that the crisis which emerged after the party's statements would be sorted out in the next 15 days.
