Petition filed against land sale for Cyber City
Kochi, Jan 25 (UNI) A petition was today filed before the Kerala High Court, seeking a CBI inquiry into the controversial sale of land belonging to the Hindustan Machine Tools Limited (HMT) for setting up Cyber City at Kalamassery, near here.
The petitioner, State Human Rights Protection Council General Secretery Joy Kaitharath, also sought a CBI investigation into the clearance given by the State Government for the sale of 70 acres of land.
He prayed for declaring the land deal as illegal and arbitrary.
It was alleged that the Central PSU had sold the land, which the State had acquired for it a few years ago at a much lower price than the market rate, to Mumbai-based HDIL for setting up the project.
