NDA should taken cognizance of Hindu unrest: Saamna
Mumbai, Jan 25 (UNI) Raising the issue once again, Shiv Sena mouthpiece ''Saamna'' today said the National Democratic Alliance should decide its policies on ''Hindutva'' by taking cognisance of the ''unrest'' of the 85 crore Hindus.
In an editorial titled ''NDAche aage badho (NDA's go ahead)'', ''Saamna'' said Narendra Modi's victory in Gujarat is the victory of Hindutva. In Maharashtra too, Hindutva will bring victory to the Shiv Sena-BJP coalition, the editorial said.
The BJP, the editorial said, has reached a nadir in the politically-important state of Uttar Pradesh as it gave up the ''Hindutva'' line. The BJP was at its zenith when it had taken up the Ram Mandir issue, the editorial further added.
Shiv Sena is the only NDA component which supports BJP on Ram Mandir, Article 370 and Common Civil Code issues, but NDA has not been able to touch upon these issues during its six years of tenure since it is a coalition government and some of its constituents are opposed to the same. The Congress-led UPA is completely avoiding ''Hindutva'' under the guise of secularism, the editorial said.
The editorial observed that in such a situation, people may develop doubts about whether there is really any difference between the NDA and UPA since both are avoiding the Hindutva issue.
Meanwhile, the editorial showered praises upon BJP leader Gopinath Munde and hoped that he will assume a greater role in national politics apart from concentrating in the state too.
