LG appeals to citizens to be alert and vigilant

New Delhi, Jan 25 (UNI) Delhi Lt Governor Tejendra Khanna today congratulated people of Delhi on the 58th Republic Day and cautioned every citizen to be alert and vigilant.

In a message to the people of Delhi on the eve of Republic Day, the Lt Governor also appealed to everybody to maintain cordial relations and good citizenship within society.

Cautioning every citizen to be alert and vigilant, he said, ''security is everybody's concern and not of security agencies alone and hence, it is a moral duty of every citizen to be security conscious.'' He requested every citizen to utilize the eyes and ear scheme launched by Delhi Police to provide a secured environment in Delhi.

The Lt Governor also stressed upon progress to be made a key result area by all citizens in each and every sphere.

''To evolve as a society and as a nation, to achieve the desired goal, we need to excel in each of every field and sphere,''the LG said.
