Haryana Treasury deptt is fitted with computers
Chandigarh, Jan 25 (UNI) The Haryana Treasury and Accounts Department has incurred a sum of Rs 6.5 crore on the computerisation of Treasuries and Sub Treasuries.
In addition this amount was also spent for establishing online payment of VAT by the registered dealers.
While stating this here today, Finance Minister Birender Singh said that recently the department had opened its 84th Sub Treasury at Mullana in Ambala district. He said that at present 21 District Treasuries and 84 Sub Treasuries were functioning in the state to cater ato the needs of the state government employees as well as the people.
Mr Birender Singh said that with a view to provide prompt and efficient services to the public, Treasuries and Sub Treasuries had been fully computerised. The receipt and payment data was also being transmitted by the Treasury of the State Bank of India to the District Treasuries, which in further transmitted the date to the state Directorate online.
The Finance Minister said that with the opening of Mullana Sub Treasury the pensioners and tax payers and dealers would get the facilities at their doorsteps. The facilities of paying VAT would also be available to them.
