GNLF's Kurseong president I N Pradhan falls sick after remand
Siliguri, Jan 25 (UNI) Gorkha National Liberation Front's (GNLF) Kurseong unit president Indra Narayan Pradhan, who was today remanded to 14-day judicial custody till February seven, fell sick and was admitted to Siliguri hospital.
Superintendent of Police Sudipta Chakravarty said Pradhan, who was earlier arrested from Sukna under Kurseong police station on the outskirts of the district, suddenly fell sick and was rushed to hospital.
Pradhan was produced before the Kurseong court, where Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate rejected his bail plea and sent him to judicial custody.
GNLF activists, led by Pradhan, were accused of attacking and injuring two Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM) supporters on January 23 following clashes between the rival groups in the Darjeeling Gorkha Hill Council.
Police raided Pradhan's house and seized a revolver and a double barrel gun and arrested his wife Deepa Pradhan, who had already been remanded to judicial custody.
