Carlsberg and Heineken consortium to acquire Scottish and Newcastle Plc

Mumbai, Jan 25 (ANI-Business Wire India): It was announced today that the Board of Directors of Scottish and Newcastle Plc have agreed to recommend the acceptance of the offer by the consortium comprising of Carlsberg and Heineken to acquire Scottish and Newcastle Plc for GBP 7.8 billion.

"While the UB Group has had an excellent and productive relationship with Scottish and Newcastle Plc during the period of the association, we welcome the fact that Heineken will be associated and be a potential shareholder of United Breweries Limited on terms that are yet to be discussed and agreed," said UB Group Chairman Dr. Vijay Mallya.
