Australian Women business leaders to visit India
Bangalore, Jan 25 (UNI) A 16-member high-profile Australian women business leaders' delegation will be visiting India from January 28 to February Two to explosore the business possibilities.
On their first of its kind visit, organised by the Australian Trade Commission under its 'Women in Exports' programme to encourage women entrepreuners, the leaders would visit Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi.
The delegation, led by iconic Australian fashion designer and Chairperson of Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) Carla Zampatti, includes business leaders and professionals representing a cross section of industry sectors like jewellery and fashion, retail, media, education, mining and energy, building and construction, telecom, finance, healthcare and professional services, according to a release here today.
The Australian Trade Commission's Senior Trade Commissioner to South Asia, Mike Moignard said that "India is Australia's fourth largest and fastest growing export market and growing in importance as a trading partner. This visit is recognition of that important commercial relationship and an opportunity for them to see first-hand the vital contribution made by Indian women to this vibrant economy." Mr Moignard said " Women run one third of Australia's small businesses and women entrepreneurs help drive Australia's export effort - there are more than 19,000 women exporters in Australia." He said that the Australian Trade Commission has embarked a focused sector-specific strategy to offer Australian technology, expertise and solutions for Indian businesses in the areas of resources, mining and energy, infrastructure, building and construction, food and beverage, agri-business, ICT, film, media and entertainment, retail, financial services.
The Mission includes of some of the most influential women business leaders in Australia, including 'Order of Australia' awardees - the highest honor for achievement or meritorious service.
