Students' body demand probe into sale of SSA books

Aizawl, Jan 24 (UNI) The Mizo Zirlai Pawl, apex students' body, today filed an FIR here demanding probe into selling of textbooks, meant for free distribution under Sarva Sikshya Abhigyan (SSA).

The students' body alleged that the SSA textbooks were being sold in some bookstores in the capital and elsewhere.

''We demand the authorities to take prompt action against the guilty and urged the Education Minister to look into the matter, MZP president C Lalhmachhuana said.

He also demanded probe into the disparities of admission and monthly fees in state government schools and take immediate action in this regard.

The MZP also expressed its concern over the troubles being faced by students at Mizo Girls Hostel in Shillong in Meghalaya.
