Retro magic to roll out in IIT, Guwahati

Guwahati, Jan 24 (UNI) Retro doesn't has its admirers in Bollywood alone, the students of IIT, Guwahati, are also avid followers of this yester years' genre and have chosen 'Retro' as the theme for their annual cultural extravaganza 'Alcheringa'.

To be held from January 31 to February 3 at IIT, Guwahati, campus, this year's Alcheringa, like previous editions, also comes with a cause AIDS and the Gangetic dolphin, informed a press release from the institute.

Keeping with its reputation of inviting big names to its cultural fest, this year's edition would include the likes of Parikrama, Vayu and Motherjane.

With Retro being the common theme this year, every attempt would be made to stage a retro round and incorporate retro into the smallest details throughout the programmes, the release added.

A fashion show, 'Hot Couture', and one of the definitive rock competition of the region, 'Rock-o-Phonix', would also be part of this year's Alcheringa, besides various other events and competitions.
