Protesters damage rehabilitation colony's boundary wall
Jajpur, Jan 24 (UNI) Activists of the Bisthapan Virodhi Manch, spearheading agitation against the steel plant by Tata in Kalinga Nagar, today damaged a boundary wall of the rehabilitation colony set up by the steel major.
Kalinganagar police station Inspector in-charge Kishore Chandra Mundu said the manch activists action was a retaliation to protest against the Tata steel project supporters, who had assaulted a Manch member in an adjacent village yesterday.
He said five platoons of police forces have been deployed in the area to prevent any untoward incident.
The situation was tense but under control, Mr Mundu said.
