NRI succumbs to heart attack at Mumbai airport

Mumbai, Jan 24: An NRI died following a massive heart attack at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport here.

According to police, Girdharilal Jagjeevan (69) had come from Kuala Lumpur by Malaysian Airlines and suffered a heart attack while collecting the baggage at 2315 hrs, last night. His wife, who was accompanying him, sought medical aid, but the on duty doctor at the airport took 20 minutes to arrive, which resulted in his death at 2330 hrs.

However, the airport authority officials denying the allegation of negligence, said the doctor was in other terminal because of which he took some time to reach the spot.

The police said the body has been sent for a post-mortem.
