Notorious criminal Bikram Singh arrested
Madhepura, Jan 24 (UNI) Notorious gangster Biram Singh was today arrested from Alamnagar village of this north Bihar district.
District Superintent of police O N Bhaskar told UNI here, ''Acting on a tip off that the hardcore criminal, wanted in connection with several cases of murder, loot and arson by the Bihar police, was in the village, a special task force rushed to the village and arrested the gangster.
A revolver and several rounds of live cartridges were seized from his possession. He would be produced in the local court tomorrow, the SP said.
Meanwhile, in another incident in the same village, a young housewife, allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison. Although the reason behind her death was not immediately known, police suspect family feud to be the reason behind her action.
The body has been sent for post mortem, the police added.
