Khalsa College accorded Star Status

Chandigarh, Jan 24 (UNI) On the pursuance of the Punjab government, the Central government has accorded Star Status to Khalsa College, Amritsar.

Stating this here today, Science, Technology and Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia said that Khalsa College, one of the country's prestigious educational institutions, would be provided assistance by the Central Government's Department of Science and technology for upgrading its infrastructure for furthering science education.

Welcoming this initiative, he said that the step would go a long way in popularising science education amongst the students in general and those hailing from the border belt in particular.
