Disaster Management Cell at Republic Day parade ground
Bangalore, Jan 24 (UNI) In an attempt to leave no stone unturned in providing foolproof security during the Republic Day celebrations, a Disaster Management Cell has been established at Field Marshal Manek Shaw Parade Grounds where Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur would unfurl the national tri-colour on January 26.
Talking to newspersons here today, Bangalore Urban District Deputy Commissioner M A Sadiq said the Cell had been established not merely in view of the general threat perception haunting the country, but also to swing into action at the time of emergencies and to provide a professional concept to the system.
He said the Cell was fully equipped with professionals from various departments, including fire services, health and family welfare, information, police and revenue.
He said four categories of doctors, a cardiologist, an orthopadic surgeon, a pediatrician and a physician along with requisite paramedical staff would be available to provide medical assistance during emergency or in exigency.
