All India Institute of Ayurveda to be set up in Delhi:Cabinet
New Delhi, Jan 24 (UNI) An All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) would be set up in Delhi as an autonomous organisation under the Department of AYUSH, the Cabinet decided today.
The move would facilitate scientific validation, quality control and standardisation and safety evaluation of Ayurveda products, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told reporters.
It would also help standardise Ayurveda-based tertiary health delivery and promote inter-disciplinary research and education of Ayurveda at postgraduate and postdoctoral levels.
AIIA would be given deemed university status in 10 years, Mr Dasmunsi said.
Eleven acres of land has been acquired for the purpose in Sarita Vihar, South Delhi.
