Border fencing a security threat in Tripura

Tripura, 20 Jan, 2008 : Locals in the border regions of India's northeastern Tripura have alleged that the poor quality of the fencing on the border with Bangladesh is posing a serious security threat.

Though, the Indian government has been fencing the Bangladesh border to prevent infiltration and cross-border smuggling, the infiltration, militant movement and trans-border crime have not stopped.
