Unknown disease claims two lives in Manipur, 30 hospitalised

Imphal, Jan 23(UNI) Two children died today due to a mysterious disease, which broke out at Chingai of Ukhrul district, while 30 others are undergoing treatment at Ukhrul hospital with similar symptoms.

Official sources here said the children were suffering from upset stomache and vomitting. A one-year-old and a nine-year-old died from the unknown disease, unable to get timely treatment, while the others, suffering from the same symptoms had been admitted either to the District Hospital at Ukhrul headquarters or to the Leishiphung Hospital.

The chairman of Chingai Village Development Authority, Wilson Satsang said there was no proper health facility in Chingai and that was why the children died.
