Tight security in Jammu on Republic Day
Jammu, Jan 23 (UNI) Winter capital Jammu has been thrown under a thick security blanket and additional security forces have been deployed for Republic Day celebrations here, police sources today said.
Security has been tightened while the police officers have been directed to be more alert in their respective jurisdictions, police said.
''All the nakkas within and outside the city are tightened whereas surprise raids are being conducted on the suspicious hideouts,'' Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Jammu Lalit Indu Mohanty told UNI.
Mr Mohanty said, ''The security has been streamlined while sufficient number of personnel have been deployed on the bank of river the Tawi, near the venue of Republic Day celebrations.'' UNI VBH AM RK2004
