Sugar prices ease further on poor buying support
Navi Mumbai, Jan 23 (UNI) Sugar prices went down further today in the wholesale spot sugar market, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said.
Sugar prices in small grade remained steady on moderate demand, while prices in medium grade slashed by Rs 10 due to sustained heavy selling pressure.
Sugar prices in ex-mill small remained unchanged, while medium grade fell by Rs 5 per quintal amid sluggish demand by bulk consumers, traders added.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,410/1,481, Medium grade: Rs 1,456/1,550.
Ex-mill Small grade: Rs 1,400/1,450 and Medium grade: Rs 1,455/1,530.
