SBI employees, officers to strike work on Jan 25
Hyderabad, Jan 23 (UNI) The All India State Bank of India (SBI) Staff Federation and All India State Bank Officers Association today served a joint strike notice to the management, conveying its decision to observe a token strike on January 25 and two-day strike from February 25.
According to a release here, Officers Association General Secretary D Krishna Kumar said they would also commence indefinite strike by March- end, in pursuance of their long pending demands, both with the Government and managment.
Stating that the employees had organised a strike from April 3-9 in 2006, demanding to improve superannuation benefit in the SBI, which was pending for a long time, Mr Kumar said the employees were demanding the stoppage of 'reckless' outsourcing, adequate recruitment of staff and revival of the compassionate appointment scheme in the previous form.
