Sambalpur, Jan 23 (UNI) BJP National President Rajnath Singh today said if voted to power the NDA will enhance the minimum support price (MSP) for rice and reduce the crop loan interest for the farmers.

Addressing a massive rally organised here to celebrate the 150th year of the first war of independence here, Mr Singh said if the MSP for rice was increased the farmers would be benefitted.

He also promised to keep interest rate on the crop loan upto four per cent from 7 per cent and one year moratorium on it to benefit the farmers across the country.

Mr Singh also came down heavily on the Congress led UPA government for abolishing the POTA for the vote bank politics to appease the minorities.

This had resulted a sharp rise in the terrorist activities in the country, he said adding that ''We will come out with more stringent law to combat the terrorism at any cost''.

The BJP President said the UPA government had failed to control the price rise because of pursuing a faulty policy and announced that under no circumstances the party would allow the Ram setu to be demolished.

Chhatisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh, who also addressed the gatherings, pleaded the minimum support price for rice should be enhanced as its was even less than that of wheat.

He said both Chhatisgarh and Orissa have plenty of resources yet they continue to remain poor due to faulty policy of the Union government.
