According to the State Unit Women's Congress, Ms Bonde is a grassroot Congress worker, who has addressed several issues concerning women across the state.
''If she is nominated as member of the Legislative Council, it will benefit women in the state as they will have a voice in the state legislature,'' a statement issued by the State Women's Congress Committee said here today.
The Committee has also highlighted that NCP has nominated its state unit women's wing chief to the Legislative Council.
