HC hauls up NDMC over misuse of public funds
New Delhi, Jan 23 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today sought an explanation by January 30 from the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) as to under what provisions of the law were they disbursing exorbitant perks and facilities worth Rs two lakh each to the members of the civic body when there was no such provision in their draft rules.
Hearing a civil writ petition filed by C L Devgun, former NDMC employee, a Division Bench headed by Chief Justice M K Sharma told NDMC counsel Madhu Twetia to submit a copy of their draft rules and reply by the end of the month under what provisions of the law they can disburse the public funds to their members.
Mr Devgun has alleged that the civic body was misusing public funds meant for the welfare of residents for the personal use of the Council members.
