"Bihar Bandh" insignificant - JD(U)
Patna, Jan 23 (UNI) The JD(U) today described the Opposition- sponsored ''Bihar Bandh'' call on January 25 as ''insignificant'', saying the people had already withdrawan their agitation following the steps taken by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in connection with the incident.
JD(U) national general secretary and its spokesperson Shivanand Tiwari today said the Opposition was trying to disturb the day-to-day life in the state with their bandh call.
He said instead of giving the bandh call in the name of Kahalgaon incident, the Opposition should have mustered courage for the agitation against the ''stepmotherly'' treatment of the Centre towards Bihar.
He said the state was not even getting half of its due shares of electricity from the Centre.
Mr Tiwari said though his party was not interested in any confrontation with the Centre as it would ''weaken'' the nation, but the Centre had not realised their responsibility towards Bihar.
