AP govt allocates additional Rs 200 crore to R and B
Hyderabad, Jan 23 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Roads and Buildings (R and B) Minister T Jeevan Reddy today said Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy has agreed to provide Rs 200 crore non-planned allocations to the department in 2007-08.
Speaking to newspersons after the review meeting of the R and B department, presided over by the Chief Minister here, he said the total allocation in 2007-08 was Rs 1961 crore. So far, Rs 1650 crore had been spent. The remaining Rs 300 crore and additional Rs 200 crore would be spent in three months by taking up new road projects.
He said the Chief Minister also accepted the department's request to take up works under Central Road Fund at the cost of Rs 300 crore.
Tenders for the proposed 220 km Rajiv Rahadari road, connecting Karim Nagar, Peddapalli and Ramagundam, would be invited by end of March, the Minister added.
