4 nabbed with 5kg smack; Largest haul of smack in Punjab

Amritsar, Jan 23 (UNI) Special Narcotics Cell of Punjab Police arrested four persons, including a woman, and seized 5 Kg smack from their car in the Kotwali area of the city in the single largest haul of contraband in the state, police said today.

DIG (Counter Intelligence) Jagdish Mittal said that on specific information, the police intercepted the car late last night and on search recovered 5 kg smack from the four occupants.

The four accused, identified as Jagdish, Amar, Amar Lal, all from Punjab and a woman Uma from Rajasthan, were taken into custody and later arrested under the NDPS Act.

The DIG said that it was single largest haul of smack seized in Punjab till date. Earlier, the seizures were in small quantities but this time it was in Kilogrammes, the DIG said.
