IMF to prevent financial crisis: Brown

New Delhi, Jan 21st 2008 : British Prime Minister Gordon Brown proposed on January 21st in the Indian capital New Delhi, to turn the International Monetary Fund into an independent watchdog against financial turbulence.

Supporting India"s bid for a permanent U.N. Security Council seat, Brown called for creation of rapid response teams of police and experts, which could move quickly to restore order and begin rebuilding after conflicts.
