Take note of petition on delay in SNC Lavalin probe: HC to CBI
Kochi, Jan 22 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today directed the CBI to take instructions on a petition complaining about a delay in its investigation into the SNC Lavalin case.
A Division Bench comprising Justices J B Koshy and K Hema posted the case to January 29.
The petition, filed by T P Nandakumar, the chief editor of 'Crime' magazine, prayed for a direction to the CBI to expedite the investigation in the case and complete it within a time-frame, to be fixed by the court.
The petitioner also sought a direction to the head of the CBI investigation team V Ashok Kumar to file a progress report on the probe before the court. The petitioner also prayed that the High Court must monitor the investigation.
The case pertains to an alleged multi-crore-rupee scam in a contract awarded to the Canadian firm SNC Lavalin to revamp three power plants in the state during the previous tenure of the LDF Government.
