Man kills lover, commits suicide

Nashik, Jan 22: A man killed his lover and then committed suicide in Sansari village of the district, here yesterday.

According to sources, Mahendra Gangurde (22), was living with his lover Poonam Jadhav (24), a married woman in Sansari village of the district. Poonam was not living with her husband since the last two years. Her husband lives in Malegaon with a son whereas, Poonam was living with a daughter and a son. She had extra-marital relations with Mahendra.

On January 20, following a petty quarrel between the two, Mahendra poured kerosene on her and set her on fire. On receiving information from neighbours, police admitted her to the District Civil Hospital, where she later succumbed to her burn injuries.

Yesterday, Mahendra committed suicide on a nearby railway track under a speeding train. Railway police informed about this to Deolali camp police.
