Punjab: Court declines tehsildar's plea in Virk Case

Rupnagar, Jan 22: Rupnagar Sessions Judge Rekha Mittal today rejected the application of Tehsildar Baljinder Singh to get his statement recorded in the disproportionate assets case registered against former Punjab DGP S S Virk.

Notably Baljinder Singh, who remained tehsildar of Kharar for several years and is presently posted in Punjab civil secretariat at Chandigarh, moved the application few months back, seeking the permission of the court to get recorded his statement under section 164 of Cr. PC. However, the court declined the plea.

Meanwhile, the court has fixed February 26 as next date in the case against Virk.
