301 AIDS cases detected in Gonda of UP

Gonda, Jan 22: As many as 301 AIDS cases have been detected in this district and 344 pregnant women were found to be HIV positive.

A test was conducted on 2,646 people from 2002 to 2007, in which 301 persons were found to be suffering with AIDS, district magistrate Muktesh Mohan Mishra said addressing media here yesterday. Meanwhile, the Red Ribbon Express, an AIDS/HIV awareness campaign train, would reach here on Feburary 7. The Red Ribbon Express halts at various stations across the country. The train would conclude its journey at New Delhi in December this year.
