Vigilance Bureau nabs DDPO for graft
Fatehgarh Sahib, Jan 21 (UNI) A team of Vigilance Bureau arrested Fatehgarh Sahib District Development and Panchyat Officer (DDPO) from his office while accepting bribe of Rs 20,000.
A case has been registered against the DDPO Mohinder Singh under various sections of Prevention of Corruption. He will be presented in the court tomorrow.
Sources said that Pankaj Sharma, who is working as Panchyat Secretary of village Buchre and Wizerabad alleged that the DDPO had demanded Rs 40,000 from him for doing a inquiry in his favour, which was intiaited by the DDPO in development works in these villages.
Sources said that it was decided that Rs 20,000 will be paid in advance while Rs 20,000 will be paid after completion of inquiry in his favour.
A vigilance team, led by Patiala DSP Anil Kumar, nabbed Mohinder Singh while he was accepting the graft.
