Two girls commit suicide in separate incidents

Rajkot, Jan 21 (UNI) Two girls allegedly committed suicide in separate incidents here.

A 16-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her residence on Kumbhar Bhagat street here this afternoon.

The girl, identified as Neha Jayantibhai, was studying in standard eighth of I P Mishan School here and had failed in the school's internal exam, which she could not bear and took the extreme step, police sources said.

The deceased's father was a casual labourer.

In another incident that took place on Friday, a 14-year-old girl who was fed up of the negative remarks of her teachers, allegedly committed suicide by hanging hereself from the ceiling in the Gayatrinagar area here.

The girl, identified as Nidhi Karia, was a Class VIII student at Om Vidyalaya here. The teachers often punished her for not doing homework and passed adverse remarks in her notebook, police sources said.

The girl was probably aggrieved with the constant complaints and strangulated herself with her dupatta after locking herself in the room, sources added.
