Three arms smugglers arrested in Dimapur

Kohima, Jan 21 (UNI) The Army, in a joint operation with the Dimapur police, busted a gang of arms smugglers at Rangapahar village in Dimapur town.

Official sources said here today that during the operation yesterday, the miscreants opened fire on seeing the troops. However, the three smugglers were overpowered by the joint team.

One of the arrested miscreants was from Arunachal Pradesh, while the other two were residents of Dimapur.

Two nine mm pistols, seven live rounds and three mobile handsets were seized from their possession.

Meanwhile, investigation was on to identify the other members of the gang, the sources added.
